Investment advisers, banks, insurance companies, broker-dealers, pension funds, corporations, and some natural persons can be institutional investment managers. A manager that meets the threshold on the last trading day of any month in a calendar year has the filing obligation described by the SEC.
The information table identifies eligible securities, security class, CUSIP, shares or principal amount, fair market value at quarter end, investment discretion, other managers, and voting authority. It is a dated long-position disclosure, not a live portfolio.
Short positions are not reported or netted against longs. Securities outside the SEC's official 13(f) list, most non-US-listed securities, some de minimis positions, and holdings granted confidential treatment can also be absent from the public table. SEC Form 13F FAQ.
The report period is the calendar quarter end and tells you when the holdings snapshot was measured. The filing date and SEC acceptance timestamp tell you when that older snapshot became public. The filing is due within 45 days after quarter end, with the deadline moved to the next business day when required.
A 13F-HR/A can restate a prior report or add holdings omitted from the original public filing. Amendments may arrive after the regular deadline, so WhoBought labels and hatches them instead of blending them into original filings.
The first filings usually arrive in early July. Until then, the completed quarter shows the tracker's latest results.

SEC EDGAR · Q1 2026 · updated Jul 21, 2026 12:30 UTC
In the Q1 2026 report, Berkshire Hathaway reported a position in Apple Inc. (AAPL): 227,917,808 shares with a disclosed value of $57.8B. Open the SEC filing.
WhoBought attaches that filing-period position to the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio and the AAPL stock page, while keeping the report period separate from the filing date.
This tracker follows 69 widely followed managers, not every Form 13F filer. Portfolio links open the investors available on WhoBought, and each filing date opens the original SEC report.
Daily bars use the date and time when the SEC accepted the report. If that time is unavailable, the filing date is used; this applies to 0 filings in the displayed quarter.
On larger screens, the chart shows one bar per calendar day from quarter end through the legal due date. On smaller screens, those same filings are grouped by week.
Original reports and later amendments remain separate. Reports filed after the legal due date stay in the table, but the deadline chart still ends on the due date.
A 13F filing is a quarterly SEC report of certain US-listed long positions held by institutional investment managers with at least 100 million dollars under investment discretion. The definition section above links to Investor.gov.
An institutional investment manager that meets the 100 million dollar threshold described above must file. The Who files section lists the types of managers covered, and the page links to the official SEC guidance.
Managers generally file within 45 days after each calendar quarter ends, with the deadline moved to the next business day when required. The calendar and deadline block shows the exact date for the selected quarter.
Form 13F leaves out short positions and cash. Many derivatives, non-US-listed securities, some small positions, and holdings with confidential treatment can also be absent; the What is omitted section links to the SEC FAQ.
The latest filings table on this page lists tracked SEC acceptances and links each filing date to the original report. Open Investors at /investors for supported portfolios or Latest filings at /moves for recent activity.
A 13F shows positions at quarter end and becomes public after the manager files, so it is not real-time. Compare the report period with the filing date and SEC acceptance time in the timeline and latest filings table.
